About the Participants:

Susanne Neuburger (*1953) initiated a 5-year project for the Wiener Festwochen in public space at the start of the 90s, (e.g. Lawrence Weiner / Flakturm Esterhazypark). For six years she was a member of the jury for Kunst im öffentlichen Raum Niederösterreich. She is currently a curator at the MUMOK, Vienna.

Mona Hahn (*1968) is an artist and has realized a number of art projects in public spaces. She is a docent for »Kunst im öffentlichen Raum«  at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna.

Metahaven is a research and design office in Amsterdam and Brussels that works in the overlapping space between graphic design, architecture and art. Their most recent project is »Stadtstaat. A Scenario for Merging Cities« for the cities of Stuttgart and Utrecht.

Eva Kernbauer (*1975) studied art history and architecture; her dissertation explored the emergence of the concept of the audience in the 18th century. She is an assistant at the IKG University in Bern.

Florian Waldvogel (*1969) curated, among others, »Nizza Transfer« (2004), a project about urbanism, urban theory and youth culture in public space on the banks of the Main in Frankfurt. He was the co-curator of the manifesta 6 in Nicosia and currently directs the Kunstverein Hamburg.

Jeremy Deller (*1966) is an artist who also works collaboratively outside the context of art; the »Folk Archive« (together with Alan Kane), for example, is a collection of contemporary Folk art.  In 2004, he received the Turner Prize.

Daniel Baumann (*1967) is a curator and critic, among others for spike, Parkett, Camera Austria, and Flash Art. He is also the project director of Nordtangente- Kunsttangente, a project for art in public space in Basel, and co-founder of the exhibition space New Jerseyy. Consecutively, he curates a series of exhibitions in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Giovanni Carmine (*1975) has curated numerous exhibitions and was a participant in the Lyon Biennial and the Venice Biennial. Together with Thomas Boutoux he conceived the exhibition »A Town (Not a City)«, that is concerned with the »Mittelstadt« and its search for identity between global aspirations and peripheral location. He is the director of the Kunst Halle St. Gallen.

The Bruce High Quality Foundation is a New York-based artist collective. Their Mission statement reads: »…to foster an alternative to everything.«

Christian Kobald is an artist, editor of spike art quarterly and, in collaboration with Severin Dünser, runs the exhibition space COCO in Vienna. He is a member of the jury for Kunst im öffentlichen Raum Niederösterreich. (Public Art, Lower Austria).
