Kunstraum Weikendorf - exhibition site as an art project
In 2007, the former fire station was transformed by Michael Kienzer into an exhibition space for contemporary art as the result of an artistic competition of public art in Lower Austria. Kienzer opened the building through a large window to the adjacent Rathausplatz, making it visible from the outside. Each year, two artists are invited to develop one exhibition each for this space, which can be seen over several months. The Kunstraum Weikendorf is a project of the Department of Art and Culture of the Province of Lower Austria in cooperation with the market town of Weikendorf.
