Using the newly renovated community center as a starting point, the architects Maria Auböck and János Kárász and the landscape architect Joachim Kräftner developed a highly contemporary design for the main square in Wildendürnbach. Their new concept unifies the existing buildings with the spaces directly next to them. The “wild Dirnbach,” a creek that flows in a tunnel under the square, was brought back to the surface in the form of a water basin, and the square was given a more unified appearance by laying an optically striking, cobbled pavement with stripes of yellow matching the surrounding buildings.
