Invitation to the art talk in the context of the current exhibition
rejection
Rosa Rendl in conversation with Bärbl Zechner, Gabriele Stöger and the audience
on Sunday, 6th October 2019, 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm
Kunstraum Weikendorf, Rathausplatz 1, 2253 Weikendorf

The installation by Rosa Rendl in the Kunstraum Weikendorf addresses the private space, domestic cosiness and thus also a kind of social warmth with the laid out and suspended rugs - a reference to the cultures of the Orient. The words woven into it (Fear, Ego, Rejection, Opportunity, Idyll ...), on the other hand, evoke associations and feelings that are swept under the carpet. The work offers ideas for using today's ubiquitous smartphone technology to explore the relationship between private and public and its digital and analogue representations. When and how are we public, do we want that and (why) do we prefer to leave some in secret? (Gabriele Stöger, Bärbl Zechner)
