INVENTOUR
Semmering is much more than 60 years of continuous high bloom or 100 years of memory. It is a place whose historical corset is loosening up and allowing room for new perspectives. The keywords from summer resort to grand hotel, from view to second home, from city to special exhibition still apply. But what´s next? Revival, recollection, innovation potential, future investment - or even movie sets: accidentally Wes Anderson, spontaneously James Bond or purposefully extraterrestrial?
INVENTOUR opens up spaces, creates access to local actors and embarks on a search for individual prospects and collective insights on the ground. Together, we explore this wonderful place with all its history and its stories, its present and its future - far beyond the famous High Blossom time window.
INVENTOUR am Semmering - Philipp Rode (landscape architect/urban space designer) will be visiting the site together with Gerald Straub (artist/performative spatial production) to search for different landscape and spatial typologies.
Two open walks are all about typological hightlights from the area, fantasy and life, and ask questions: What is Semmering for commuters? What is the relationship of a forestry worker to the area? What are the investors thinking?
Experts chat out - and they can be there live. And for every typology, there are small movie scenes that are implemented locally. An ad hoc retelling with fictional elements. Semmeringer insights with unusual prospects.
