Schloß Orth commemorates the 500th anniversary of Niklas Graf Salm, commander of the Renaissance and landlord of the castle. In the series ALLTAGSKULTUR UND GEGENWARTSKUNST, Franz Kapfer was invited to approach art. The title in Deliverance of Christianity comprises several projects by Kapfer, which are dedicated to the long tradition and still present presence of Turks as enemy in Austrian cultural memory. In the museumORTH, he takes the First Siege of Vienna as a starting point to track down to the present day, using two large-format installations, ideologically charged, linguistic and visual stereotypes that were socially anchored centuries ago.
The opening takes place together with the presentation of the projects by Götz Bury and Heimo Wallern as part of ALLTAGSKULTUR UND GEGENWARTSKUNST.
